Audience reviews:

  • Susan shared about a subject that many find very difficult to talk about and she did so with humour. Her natural storytelling ability and the ease with which she connected to the audience by being vulnerable and real was truly amazing. Susan is also really funny! The feedback I have received from the team has been great – they loved Susan and the talk! Something that really amazed me was how comfortable the team was asking questions of Susan about her experience and what she would recommend to help others who may be struggling. That to me reiterates just how well she not only connected with the audience, made a heavy subject easier to discuss but also just how relevant the topic was. - Town Of Newmarket
  • Susan was a hilarious speaker at one of our events and she was a fantastic way to end a long day for our delegates. She struck a good balance between information and entertainment. We would gladly book her again for a future event and highly recommend her for anyone looking to inject humour and energy into their event!

    - Community Engagement Officer, Association of Canadian Financial Officers
  • It’s not often that a speaker engages her audience as Susan did and left them wanting more. There were many laughs and ah-ha moments. Our audience left our event relaxed and better prepared to manage challenges, as a result.

    - Business Development, DBM Canada
  • There are very few individuals who can capture an audience, entertain, motivate and offer hope. Her words illustrated vivid imagery that the audience related to on a personal level and will be talking and laughing about for months to come.

    - Educational Resource Worker, Peel District Catholic School Board
  • Susan’s keynote address was outstanding. She kept the room fully engaged and delivered a learning session that was not only insightful but full of fun laughs as well. The feedback received confirmed that participants felt her presentation was of value and would have loved for her to continue to share her stories for the entire day.

    - Ontario Public Service
  • Susan was fantastic! She had the table next to me in tears. She was charismatic and truly lightened the room. Thank you for suggesting her. She was lovely off the stage as well. Definitely the highlight of my night!

Speaker Biography

Professionally speaking, Susan has taken a winding road. After earning a Theatre Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, Susan moved to Toronto to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. Three years into her comedy career, Susan began battling depression and anxiety which eventually led her to quit performing. When Susan got back on her feet, she wanted to know “how the other half lived” and get a “real job” which led her to working in a Human Resources department in the Ontario Government.

A year into her new HR career, Susan was asked to create and deliver a comical presentation about wellness for an upcoming staff professional development conference. Susan’s presentation was a smash-hit and as they say, the rest is history. Susan eventually left her HR career to return to the stage full-time and use her comedic powers for good, rather than evil.

For the past decade, Susan has been entertaining and inspiring people to not take things too seriously to lower stress and nurture strong mental health.

Susan is the author of Reaching The Laugh Resort: Why The Journey To Remembering Who You (Really) Are Is Worth The Jet Lag, Your New Lenses Are Ready For Pick Up: A Guide To Seeing The Lighter Side Of Life, and You Gotta Laugh: Wit And Wisdom About Not Taking Life (Or Yourself) Too Seriously.
