About Their New Book And Speaking Topic:
“Me to We: Finding Meaning in a Material World”
Me to We is a philosophy about finding meaning in our lives and our world by reaching out to others through social involvement,
volunteerism and service to others. Look outward, not inward to achieve true happiness. They encourage audiences to think "we"
instead of "me," to create positive social change. To learn to make new decisions about the way we want to live to become
socially conscious and responsible global citizens. To think about ‘what is the legacy we want to leave?’
By embracing the Me to We philosophy, audiences learn how to live a happier, healthier, more satisfying life by reaching out to others
and learn to take action.
Recent engagements have had Craig and/or Marc sharing the stage with former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela,
the Dalai Lama and Dr. Phil.
The presentation can be delivered by either speaker or both, and tailored to a mixed audience (students, staff & general public).
MARC KIELBURGER
Much of the Oscar-nominated movie Blood Diamond starring Leonardo DiCaprio takes place in a region called Kono, where the diamond mines are prolific. Kielburger has personally visited this region of the country a number of times shortly after the war ended, where communities were destroyed from the Sierra Leone civil war and children had been forced to become soldiers. Kono is also the exact area where Kielburger's organization, Free The Children, is now building schools. They remain largely the only outside non-governmental organization that has made significant investment in the rebuilding of this part of the country, where the need is arguably the greatest. Kielburger shares his personal experiences in the region and compels audiences to take leadership in helping others at home and around the world.
